Newly founded in the academic year of 2001, the department sets the goals of researching sports
science; contributing to the enhancement of the citizens' physical strength; realizing the spirit of sports for
all; and producing social sports leaders who are capable of intergrating and managing the multivalent sports
activities. The department educates on the assumption that the students are to be trained as strong and cultured
sports specialists with broad knowledge in liberal arts, dependable personality, both theoretical and piratical expertise
in sports and leisure activities, and vocational adaptability.

∵ The graduates can the certificates of 2nd-degree social sports leader, 2nd-degree social educator, and others,
and they can pursue their careers as 2nd-degree social sports leaders, exercise prescription specialists,
